In September 2023, Felix Auger-Aliassime had a good run at the Japan Open, reaching the quarterfinals.

Prior to this tournament, Auger-Aliassime had a successful outing in the Laver Cup, where he won the title with Team World. He then participated at the China Open, losing in the first round to Holger Rune.
