Danielle Collins is gearing up for the Monterrey Open that got underway on August 19 in Mexico. The top seed has received a first-round bye and will play Erika Andreeva in the Round of 16 on Wednesday, August 21.
The American was delighted to receive a bracelet as a gift from a fan at the tournament. The slim metallic bracelet was inscribed with the words "Come on" followed by Collins' initials bracketed with floral motifs. The inscription also included "Mr. Q" referring to Collins' pet dog Quincy.
Collins took to Instagram to share a picture of the bracelet and expressed her gratitude to the fan, who she said had sent the gift through Emma Navarro:
"I love a thoughtful gift!! Thank you to my amazing fan who gave this to my girl @emma_navarro48 to deliver to me in Monterrey. I can't wait to wear this daily. I'm so thankful," Collins wrote.
In another post, Collins shared pictures from a photoshoot with Quincy. There was also a video of the two, along with the pictures. In one picture, Collins can be seen hugging her pet pooch while he adorably licks Collins' face.
In the video, Collins can be seen petting Quincy as she speaks about their time together:
"Quincy makes me feel better on and off the court because of our endless snuggles, our adventures together and just being able to see life through Quincy's eyes."
Collins has frequently mentioned her love for Quincy, who often accompanies her on tour.
Danielle Collins crowned pet dog Quincy "MVP" after Miami Open title victory
Danielle Collins has had a successful season with two titles - the Miami Open and the Charleston Open - to her name. The World No. 11 has also registered an impressive 39-12 win-loss record so far in the season that she has announced will be her final on tour.
Off-court, Collins seems to find important support in her pet dog Quincy. Back in March this year, Collins had taken to Instagram after her Miami Open title win and called Quincy the "Miami Open MVP":
"Just wanted to do a very quick PSA! This year’s Miami Open MVP goes to my very handsome, very sophisticated, smart, loving, charismatic, ball of energy, my favorite son… Mister Q! Quincy, I don’t know what I would do without you. I love you sir!!" Collins wrote.
The post contained a compilation video of Quincy's time at the tournament and Collins' playful interactions with him, including playing catch with a tennis ball and petting him.
