Carlos Alcaraz has boldly declared himself as one of the leading contenders to win the French Open in 2023.

The upcoming French Open will feature some of the top players, including Novak Djokovic, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Jannik Sinner. They are likely to present a significant challenge to Alcaraz's quest for a second Grand Slam title.

Alcaraz feels that his recent results on clay and current confidence will propel him to lift the title at Roland Garros.

"Not so much because of the results on clay but also because of the confidence I have, I put myself on the list of candidates to win Roland Garros and I'm not afraid to say it," Alcaraz said in a recent interview with MARC

The Spaniard further stated that he is not thinking much about his ranking ahead of the French Open. Nevertheless, he acknowledged that he has to consistently perform at a high level in every tournament to remain in contention for the top spot.

"I don't think too much about the ranking," Alcaraz stated. "I know that if I want to maintain this condition I have to do well in each tournament. If I enjoy myself and have fun, good results will come and the points that make me have a good ranking in the ATP."
