Jack Draper using Carlos Alcaraz's infamous 'Cabeza, corazon y cojones' (CCC) celebration after his opening round win against Mariano Navone at the 2025 Australian Open sparked a reaction from the Spaniard. The Spanish phrase translates to 'Head, heart, and balls'.
15th seed Draper survived a thriller against the dangerous Mariano Navone 4-6, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 following which he took to Instagram to share some snaps from the match. Interestingly, he used his contemporary Alcaraz's popular 'CCC' celebration. The Spaniard also has a tattoo of the acronym near his right elbow.
"Big battle to start 2025 🧠 ❤️🥚🥚," he wrote.
Carlos Alcaraz responded under Draper's post, seemingly giving the Brit approval to use his celebration.
"That's my man 🧠 ❤️🥚🥚."
The two young stars of the ATP Tour share a good friendship and were also slated to practice together during the tennis offseason. However, Jack Draper had to cancel their plans due to a hip injury after touching down in Spain.
"I did have a little bit of a niggle in my hip area and in terms of going away to Spain and training at that level of intensity with Carlos I had to make that call because it's not fair on him if I go and I am not 100%," Draper said (via bbc.com).
However, he seems to be back to his best and ready to take on a home favorite in the second round. On the other hand, Carlos Alcaraz comfortably dealt with Alexander Shevchenko 6-1, 7-5, 6-1.
