Carlos Alcaraz is poised to play the US Open 2024, which is slated to commence on August 26. A few days before the competition begins, the player's kit has been revealed.

In the 2023 US Open, Alcaraz lost to 2021 champion Dannil Medvedev. While looking to defend his Grand Slam title, the player reached the semifinals but lost in four sets at the Arthur Adhe Stadium.

However, in 2022, Carlos Alcaraz won his first major singles title at the US Open and became the youngest man and the first male tennager in the competition to top the singles at just 19 years of age. During his 2023 competition, he wore an elastic sleeveless white shirt and revealed that he was inspired by the tennis legend Rafael Nadal for the outfit.

The 21-years-old's outfit for the 2024 US Open, which will take place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, has now been revealed. The Tennis Letter unveiled the player's outfit for the competition on X by posting a picture, which carried a classic black-colored Nike's sleeveless black elastic t-shirt.

The post's caption read:

"Carlos Alcaraz' kit for the US Open. Dark vibes."

"We're making a bit too much of him" - Ion Tiriac opens up about Carlos Alcaraz

Carlos Alcaraz has cemented his place in tennis after winning his maiden Grand Slam title in 2022. He followed it with a 2023 Wimbledon Championship win, as he trounced Djokovic. He defended his Wimbledon title in 2024 by again besting Djokovic, and also won this year's French Open.

Former Romanian player Ion Tiriac feels even though Alcaraz has incredible talent, the tennis community is "making a bit too much of him."

"He's (Alcaraz) a talented player, he's sensational, he has incredible leg speed and power, but I think we're making a bit too much of him, that we already want to reap the economic benefits when we're only at the beginning of his career," Tiriac said to We Love Tennis.

He added that the community should have patience and give the player his space.

"We have to be much more patient, leave him alone because the dollar we earn today is nothing compared to what we can "earn" in a few years," he added.

Carlos Alcaraz recently lost to Gael Monfils in the Round of 32 at the ATP Cinicinnati Open, and said that it was the "worst match" of his life.
