Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner have been dominating headlines in the tennis world for several years, prompting analysts to predict a bright future for the duo. However, a recent prediction by former ATP pro Mats Wilander didn’t sit well with fans.

In a recent interview with Eurosport, Wilander made what he described as a "very bold" prediction: either Alcaraz or Sinner will achieve a Calendar Slam in 2025. This feat involves winning all four Majors—the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and US Open—in a single calendar year.

“My very, very, very bold prediction for 2025 is that Carlos Alcaraz or Jannik Sinner will win the calendar Grand Slam," Wilander said.

Fans have taken to X (formerly Twitter) to criticize the seven-time Grand Slam champion for his comment. One wrote:

"[Carlos] Alcaraz is not winning the Calendar Slam. That would require winning 2 hardcourt slams. He's won 1 of the last 15 hardcourt events he’s played."

Another wrote:

"Nice joke, uncle."
"Every time Wilander opens his mouth he reminds us he’s the dumbest person in tennis," one account tweeted.

A user posted:

"If you take a second to think about it, this is stupid prediction. How to make a prediction that BOTH of them can win all four when they are competing against each other."
"Djokervic has a higher chance of career slam tbh his year was considered bad last yr yet nearly every event he played he went deep and won olympics on clay against Carlos who clearly had the complete edge also djokervic withdrew at RG due to torn meniscus injury," another commented.

Another chimed in:

"Sweet:). Yes a very very bold prediction and you are like either this or that."

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are set to begin their 2025 season at the Australian Open, the first Major of the year. This mirrors their approach from last season, where they skipped warm-up events such as the Brisbane International and headed straight to Melbourne.

Alcaraz has outlined ambitious goals for the upcoming season, aiming to win the Happy Slam and complete the Career Grand Slam. If he achieves this historic feat—winning all four Majors at least once—by 2027, he will surpass Rafael Nadal to become the youngest player to reach the milestone.

The 21-year-old is keeping himself motivated with a unique promise—he plans to get a kangaroo tattoo to commemorate his victory if he triumphs Down Under.
