After a busy year on the tennis courts, Caroline Wozniacki is now preparing for the upcoming season. Recently, the Dane shared glimpses of her children Olivia and James joining her in her workout sessions, with the former accompanying her on the court as well.
Former World No.1 Wozniacki announced her return to tennis in 2023 after initially having called time on her career in January 2020. Since her return to court, the 34-year-old has shown hints of her former self. Last year, she reached the round of 16 at the US Open, before falling to Coco Gauff over the course of three sets.
This year, her best result was a quarterfinal finish at the Bad Homburg Opena and the BNP Paribas Open. Now, as Caroline Wozniacki readies for 2025, she shared glimpses of her children joining her in her training. Her daughter Olivia and son James made an appearance in her workout session, and Olivia even accompanied her to the tennis court, with Wozniacki emphasizing that ‘this girl means business'.
Caroline Wozniacki on striking a balance between tennis and her family
Caroline Wozniacki enjoyed a successful career before she announced her retirement in 2020. She was ranked No.1 in the world for 71 weeks and won the 2017 WTA Tour Finals as well as the 2018 Australian Open. Since the Dane’s comeback to the court in 2023, she has been vocal about the challenges of balancing her career and family.
In a press conference during the 2024 US Open, she shared that it can be tricky to balance being a mother with the demands of being a professional tennis player, saying,
“Of course, marriage is a big deal, and I am very happily married, but when you get married, that doesn't really change your preparation for training, matches, or days off. Having children is a big difference. Obviously, my kids are there every day, and I appreciate that a lot. It's the best job in the world, and I love it. I try to ensure that I remain a fully present mother while also trying to balance being the best tennis player I can be. I think that's where it can get a bit tricky sometimes."
Since returning to the courts, Caroline Wozniacki has struggled to play at the same levels she did before her retirement. The Dane has emphasized that her focus is now solely on the Grand Slam events, and fans can likely expect to see her back in action at the 2025 Australian Open.
