Casper Ruud on his fiancée Maria Galligani: “We met before I got to the level I am at now, she's been very, very patient"
Last month, during an interview with We Are Tennis, Casper Ruud revealed that he met Maria Galligani before he achieved the level of success and fame he now has in the world of tennis.
Ruud mentioned that the spotlight and attention have also impacted Galligani and that maintaining her life around these hasn't always been easy for her.
“We met before I got to the level I am at now, so things have changed for her, as well, and it hasn't always been easy. There are more things in my life that I have to take care of now than when we met . It's tennis, it's treatment, it's media, it's maybe meeting a sponsor. It's a lot of things before you have time for maybe your partner," Ruud said.
The Norwegian said that despite all the spotlight and media attention, Maria Galligani has been "very patient."
“So she's been very, very patient and great with these things, and on the social media side and kind of headlight side, she doesn't want it. She wants to be her own, in control of her own kind of life and especially personal life. I'm happy that she's found that way," he added .
Casper Ruud ended his 2024 season with a semifinal finish at the ATP Finals in Turin. He won 51 out of 76 matches, winning two titles in Barcelona and Geneva. Ruud ended 2024 as the World No. 6.
The Norwegian will kick off his 2025 season at the United Cup, where he will represent Norway. The tournament is scheduled to begin on December 27, 2024, and will run until January 5, 2025.
