Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian took a heartwarming trip down memory lane when he recently unearthed a piece of his past that he claims changed his life— a movie ticket stub from the iconic 1999 film 'The Matrix.' Ohanian shared his excitement and revealed his plans to have the ticket graded and encapsulated in a glass case.

Released in 1999, 'The Matrix' quickly became a cultural classic, renowned for its groundbreaking special effects, philosophical themes, and innovative storytelling. Directed by Lana Wachowski and Lilly Wachowski, the film introduced audiences to a dystopian future where reality is a simulated construct controlled by sentient machines.

Ohanian shared an Instagram post featuring the ticket stub from the Snowden Square movie theater in Columbia, Maryland, carefully preserved in a plastic case. Ohanian expressed his deep connection to the film, stating:

"It’s not an understatement to say this ticket stub changed my life. You better believe I’m getting this slabbed."

This nostalgic find resonated with many, including popular YouTuber Casey Neistat, who commented:

"This is so rad. I used to save all my movie ticket stubs. The Matrix is all time though."

Ohanian responded, sharing that his father had recently dropped off a box of his old belongings, among which he found a dozen movie stubs, but this one stood out as the best find.

"My dad dropped off a ton of my stuff and I had a dozen stubs but this was the best find," Ohanian wrote.

Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian gave a tour of the most treasured items in his collection in an Instagram video shared in partnership with the collector community page On Mantel earlier this year.

As a passionate collector of sports trading cards, Ohanian’s extensive collection prominently features his wife, tennis icon Serena Williams. Ohanian offered his followers an exclusive glimpse of a rare Serena Williams rookie card, an NES Play Action Football game, a Magic card, and a life-size Iron Man statue, which he proudly referred to as the "best thing" in his office.

"I have been collecting things since I was a kid. This is a soccer ball from the inaugural season of my team, Angel City FC. This is one of the best Serena Williams rookie cards ever. In fact, I think it is legitimately the best one. There's a grated copy of NES Play Action Football, which was the first video game I ever got. I played the hell out of it; I didn't even have an NFL license. But didn't matter," Ohanian said.
"And I was gifted this magic card, it's not real, but it was a really nice token of appreciation from one of our founders. And then finally, this is the best thing in my office, which is the Iron Man Mark 85. It's a life-size sculpture of the one and only Tony Stark," he continued.

Just like Ohanian, his seven-year-old daughter Olympia is also an avid collector of soccer trading cards. In September 2023, Ohanian expressed his enthusiasm about his daughter getting into the card and memorabilia collecting hobby.
