Coco Gauff, Taylor Fritz, and Danielle Collins are enjoying each other's company at the 2025 United Cup. The trio recently took part in a fun team interview, during which they revealed their first celebrity crushes.
Team USA has delivered an impressive campaign at the United Cup, booking their place in the quarterfinals. Gauff and Fritz have played pivotal roles in the team's success, contributing to a 2-1 victory over Canada and a 3-0 sweep against Croatia, finishing as the leaders of Group A.
The players recently made time for an entertaining group interview, where Danielle Collins revealed that her first celebrity crush was American singer Lance Bass, who rose to fame as a member of the iconic boyband NSYNC. Coco Gauff shared a hilarious reaction to Collins' revelation, admitting that she didn't know who Bass was.
"Lance Bass seems like the safest human in the world. It totally makes sense now," Collins said.
"I have no idea who that is," Gauff chimed in.
Gauff initially hesitated to disclose her own first celebrity crush, given that she knew him personally. However, the 20-year-old came clean and named Hollywood star Michael B. Jordan. Although the World No. 3 expressed her love for Jordan, she clarified that she wasn't dating the famous actor.
"I don't want to say my first celebrity crush because I know him now," Coco Gauff said. "No, I'm not dating him. Michael B. Jordan, I love that man."
Meanwhile, Taylor Fritz named actress Lindsay Lohan, recalling that he spotted her on screen during the 2024 US Open final and lamenting that she witnessed his devastating loss to Jannik Sinner.
"My childhood celebrity crush was Lindsay Lohan. They put her on the big screen at the US Open in the final, like 'Oh my God! Damn, Lindsay Lohan's watching me lose right now,'" Fritz said.
"I'm way too young for him, maybe if I was a bit older" - Coco Gauff on shooting her shot with Michael B Jordan
Coco Gauff hasn't shied away from expressing her fondness for Michael B. Jordan on previous occasions as well. In a 2023 interview with the Tennis Channel, the World No. 3 lavished praise on Jordan's acting and directing in Creed 3, while also acknowledging that he looked "so good" on screen.
"I watched Creed 3 twice in theaters, he did well directing the movie and playing the character too, mainly for the acting and other reasons as well. I mean, he's Michael B. Jordan, the guy looks so good," she said.
However, Gauff clarified that she wasn't attempting to pursue a relationship with the Hollywood star, acknowledging that she was "way too young" for Jordan.
"No, no," Gauff said, while blushing. "I'm way too young for him, maybe if I was a bit older."
Coco Gauff and Team USA are set to take on China in the quarterfinals of the 2025 United Cup. Gauff will square off against Xinyu Gao, while Taylor Fritz faces Zhang Zhizhen, followed by the mixed doubles contest.
