Team USA's 2025 United Cup contingent including Danielle Collins, Coco Gauff, Taylor Fritz, and Desirae Krawczyk were also present in Paris to represent their nation at the Olympics. The team has shared their feelings about the reunion.
Gauff, Collins, Fritz, Krawczyk, and USA captain Michael Russell sat down for a press conference on Friday, December 27, ahead of their United Cup campaign. Collins was asked about her decision to participate in her first United Cup. She explained that following the experience and success at the Olympics with this team, the choice to reunite was a "no-brainer."
"Yeah, I mean, after Olympics, we just had to get the fam back together. We had a good run there, had a great time with the same crew. It was a no-brainer after talking to everybody about coming back this year and kicking it off here in Perth," Danielle Collins said.

Gauff was asked about her decision to switch from playing in Auckland to participating in the United Cup this year. She acknowledged her love for Auckland, where she has won two titles consecutively, but explained that she wanted to face a "higher level of competition" and experience a team format.
"For me I wanted to play a higher level of competition and also a team competition. I had a lot of fun with the Olympics. Basically a similar crew here today," Coco Gauff said.
"Yeah, just had a lot of fun. The season's already so much by ourselves that it's nice to mix it up. I'm looking forward to hopefully having a good couple weeks here in Perth and hopefully in Sydney, as well," she added.
Fritz, meanwhile, was asked about his motivation to return to the United Cup after last year's successful preparation for the Australian Open. While he did not specifically mention reuniting with the Olympic team, he expressed enthusiasm for starting the season with a team event, something he has consistently enjoyed.
"I feel like I play well in team events. They're also just really fun to kind of have that team energy. Like Coco said before, playing the whole year basically by ourselves, it's nice to change it up... It's a great event. Perfect way to start the year," Taylor Fritz said.

The USA will go up against Canada and Croatia in Group A of the 2025 United Cup. First up for the USA is Canada on Sunday, December 29. The singles matches are expected to feature Coco Gauff vs. Leylah Fernadez and Taylor Fritz vs. Feliz Auger-Aliassime. Desirae Krawczyk and Danielle Collins may feature in the mixed doubles matches.
Later, the USA will take on Croatia on Tuesday, December 31, featuring the likes of Donna Vekic and Borna Coric.
In 2024, the USA, as defending champions, failed to progress beyond the group stages of the event. This year, they will be aiming for a stronger performance and hoping to advance further in the competition.
