Coco Gauff playfully took over her mother Candi Gauff’s phone to post a mirror selfie of herself in an all-black outfit on social media without her knowing. Candi was in Australia, cheering on Coco as she competed in the 2025 United Cup.
On Wednesday, January 8, Candi shared five Instagram stories, four of which showcased her daughter's quirky expressions.
In the first story, Gauff was seen pouting, while in the second, the American tennis pro stuck her tongue out. The third story featured the 20-year-old with her eyes wide open, sporting a shocked expression, accompanied by the caption:
“I swerve bend that corner….”
Breaking the streak, the fourth story shifted focus to her mother, who posted a mirror selfie in a stunning all-black outfit with the caption:
“...WoAAhhh.”
With all of Candi's confusing stories, her fans' curiosity finally got some answers in the last one. In it, Coco Gauff confessed to her mischief by sharing a close-up picture of herself with the caption:
“I took her phone. Don’t snitch on me bye!”
Gauff loves spending time with her family, especially her mother. Recently, she celebrated Christmas Eve in Australia, enjoying joy rides and fireworks with her loved ones, including her mother Candi, father Corey, and siblings Codey and Cameron.

Candi Gauff, mother of Coco Gauff, proudly celebrated her daughter's triumph in her debut at the United Cup. Coco, along with Taylor Fritz, secured a victory over Poland's Iga Swiatek and Hubert Hurkacz, helping Team USA claim the title.
On January 5, Gauff clinched a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Poland's Iga Swiatek, giving the USA a 1-0 lead against Poland. During the match, Candi cheered passionately for her daughter.
Later that day, Fritz secured a hard-fought win, edging past Hurkacz with a 6-4, 5-7, 7-(6) scoreline. With this victory, the United States claimed their second United Cup title, following their first win in 2023 against Italy.
After the victory, Candi was spotted waving a small cutout featuring the tournament logo from the stands to celebrate her daughter's win. Later, she took to Instagram Stories to express her love and pride, sharing her joy after Coco Gauff was named MVP of Team USA's triumph over Poland in the United Cup final.
The world No. 3 is all set to compete in the 2025 Australian Open in Melbourne, which will take place from January 12 to January 26.
