Coco Gauff delivered a powerful message after helping the United States defeat Canada at the 2025 United Cup. She played a crucial role in the American team's 2-1 victory.

In the opening match of the USA-Canada tie, Gauff faced Leylah Fernandez and emerged victorious with a score of 6-3, 6-2, giving her team a 1-0 lead. The men's singles round was won by Felix Auger-Aliassime, who defeated Fritz 4-6, 7-5, 6-3, leveling the score at 1-1.

In the mixed doubles rubber, the American duo of Gauff and Fritz defeated Fernandez and Auger-Aliassime 7-6(2), 7-5 to secure the tie against Canada.

Following the win, Gauff took to social media to share a series of pictures from the USA-Canada tie. In her caption, she expressed that the new season signifies a newer and better version of herself.

“we are so back. new szn, better me 🫡 🦅 🇺🇸 ," Gauff captioned her Instagram post.

Coco Gauff, alongside Taylor Fritz, Danielle Collins, Denis Kudla, Robert Galloway, Desirae Krawczyk, and team captain Michael Russell, make up the American team that is competing in this year's United Cup. The USA, Canada, and Croatia are part of Group A whose matches take place at the RAC Arena in Perth.


Coco Gauff will next be in action at Australian Open 2025 after United Cup

Following the conclusion of her campaign with the United States of America at the 2025 United Cup, Coco Gauff will compete at the Australian Open. The tournament is set to take place from January 12 to January 26, 2025.

Gauff's best result at the Melbourne Major came in 2024 when she reached the semifinals. She was seeded fourth in the tournament and she kicked off her campaign by defeating Anna Karolina Schmiedlova 6-3, 6-0 in the first round and then overcame compatriot Caroline Dolehide 7-6(2), 6-2 in the second round.

The former World No. 2 then triumphed over Alycia Parks 6-0, 6-2 and Magdalena Frech 6-1, 6-2 in the third and fourth rounds, respectively.

In the quarterfinals, the American battled her way to a hard-fought 7-6(6), 6-7(3), 6-2 victory against Marta Kostyuk. However, her journey came to an end in the semifinals when she was defeated by the eventual champion, Aryna Sabalenka, losing 6-7(2), 4-6.

Gauff's best result in the doubles event at the Australian Open was in 2023 when she teamed up with Jessica Pegula. The duo reached the semifinals before falling to the eventual runners-up, the Japanese pair of Shuko Aoyama and Ena Shibahara.
