Coco Gauff recently talked about her teammate Danielle Collins twerking after winning the semifinal match at the United Cup. The 20-year-old bested Karolina Muchova to move one step ahead towards the finals of the tournament.
Gauff, who is currently ranked World No. 3, delivered a staunch performance on Saturday, where she helped her team get up to only one point behind advancing to the United Cup finals. She dominated the semifinal match against Karolina Muchova with a score of 6-1, 6-4.
Following this win, in the post-match interview, she spoke about her team dynamics and made her feelings known about her teammate Danielle Collins' twerking. Coco Gauff revealed that she had to stop her from twerking when the interviewer asked if she had taught Collins how to shoot a vlog and if she is keeping the team young. To this, Gauff replied:
"Danielle, she is pretty young and I am surprised that she hasn't done some twerking yet today. I had to tell her not to do that. But, no, my whole team, we have great team vibes, escape rooms. We haven't done a team Tiktok yet. So maybe today or tomorrow we'll do it," she said.
During the Paris Olympics, the US team, which included Gauff, Jessica Pegula, Danielle Collins, and Emma Navarro, shared a TikTok video where they showcased their striking poses, and Collins chose to twerk in the video.

After besting Karolina Muchova in the semifinal match of the United Cup, Coco Gauff opened up about playing against her contender. She said that it is never easy playing against her and revealed that she was completely focused on her game. She exuded confidence in her game and said:
"It's never easy against Karolina. The whole match I was intense and focussed and I think that made the difference today. Happy to get my team off to a a good start here in Sydney," said Coco Gauff. [via ATP Tour]
She further spoke about her confidence in Taylor Fritz for his match against Tomas Machac. She explained that Fritz has one of the best mindsets on Tour and said:
"It's a tough match, Machac is a great player. I have full confidence in Taylor. He's a great player, he has one of the best mindsets on Tour. I don't take that lightly. After spending time with him at the Olympics on the mixed court, and then today and this past week, this is just the beginning. That's why today I have a lot of confidence he'll pull out the win. And if not, I'll be ready to play mixed."
Coco Gauff wrapped up her 2024 season after nabbing a win in the WTA Finals after defeating Qinwen Zheng with a score of 3-6, 6-4, 7-6(7).
