Coco Gauff, Boris Becker, and Naomi Osaka's boyfriend Cordae paid tribute to Quincy Jones after the American legendary producer passed away at the age of 91 in his home in Los Angeles on Sunday evening.
The Chicago native's musical prowess made him a 20th-century pop culture icon, having produced Michael Jackson's Off the Wall, Thriller, and Bad, composed film scores, led jazz bands, and achieved major TV success with the sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, earning 28 Grammy wins from 80 nominations.
Following the announcement of Quincy Jones's death, tributes poured in from around the world, including from tennis stars. The 20-year-old tennis star shared a picture of Jones on her Instagram story.
Six-time Grand Slam champion Boris Becker offered his condolences by posting a picture of Jones on his Instagram story and captioning it:
"A giant in the music industry is gone, RIP Quincy Jones” - Boris Becker said
Naomi Osaka's rapper boyfriend, Cordae, posted a video of himself interviewing Quincy Jones on his Instagram story. In the caption, he paid tribute to the legendary producer, saying:
“Rest in power to the great Quincy Jones” then he added a string of praying hands emojis
In another story, he shared a clip featuring Jones's narrating voice from his debut studio album, The Lost Boy.

Coco Gauff reacts to being mentioned in Tyler The Creator's lastest album 'Chromakopia'
Coco Gauff, recently received a shoutout from American rapper Tyler The Creator when he released his eighth studio album, Chromakopia, released in late October 2024. In one of the tracks from the album, the lyrics mentioned Gauff's name:
"B**ch, you ain't Coco Gauff, you can't serve me."
This gesture surprised Gauff and she retweeted the video teaser on X (formerly Twitter), saying:
“waking up to my name being mentioned in a tyler song… absolutely insane 🤯. thank you @tylerthecreator #Chromakopia”
At the WTA Finals, while speaking to the press on Friday, Gauff shared how Tyler The Creator, congratulated her after her China Open win through a direct message and spoke about being surprised when he mentioned her in a song three weeks later, just as her boyfriend had jokingly predicted.
“That was really cool. I was not expecting it, It was crazy because he DM'd me congratulations over China Open. We never talked or anything before. He liked my photo or something when I won US Open.
"Then my boyfriend is like, 'Watch, he's going to drop you in a song.' I was like, 'Yeah, that would be insane. That's never going to happen.' Three weeks later it happened. I was like, 'Can he see into the future or what?'" Coco Gauff added
Gauff is currently competing at the 2024 WTA Finals in Riyadh, where she defeated Jessica Pegula in her first round-robin match. The American will play against Iga Swiatek on Tuesday.
