Former US Open champion Coco Gauff will face Switzerland's Belinda Bencic in the fourth round of the 2025 Australian Open. Their match is scheduled for Sunday, January 19.
Gauff entered the Melbourne Major after making a significant coaching change, replacing Brad Gilbert with Matt Daly. The decision paid off quickly, as she turned her 2024 season around, ending it on a high by winning the China Open and the WTA Finals after a challenging start to the year.
The American is certainly making the most of her new partnership with Daly. She began her campaign with a dominant 6-3, 6-3 victory over compatriot Sofia Kenin, followed by a tough 6-3, 7-5 win against Great Britain's Jodie Burrage, and then overcame 30th seed Leylah Fernandez 6-4, 6-2 to reach the fourth round.

The 20-year-old is participating in the event for the sixth time in her career, having made her debut in 2020, where she exited in the fourth round. Her best performance so far came last year when she reached the semifinals before falling to eventual champion Aryna Sabalenka.
