Coco Gauff reiterates being 'glad' she didn't pursue track after grueling pre-season sprint training, reveals her favorite low-effort workout

Coco Gauff recently shared her workout sessions, where she made her feelings known about pursuing track and field as her career. Along with this, she also revealed her favorite workout that demands the least effort.

Gauff had an incredible 2024 season, and she concluded it with a bang by nabbing the title of the WTA Finals. The American bested several top-notch players like Jessica Pegula, Iga Swiatek, and Aryna Sabalenka to advance to the tournament final and grab the win. She squared off against Qinwen Zheng in the finals and dominated the match with a score of 3-6, 6-4, 7-6(2).

Along with the WTA Finals, the 20-year-old also won the China Open on October 6, after defeating Karolina Muchova with a score of 6-1, 6-3. After having a successful run in 2024, Gauff is currently enjoying her downtime and preparing for the 2025 season. She shared a glimpse of her workout on track and expressed being glad that she did not choose track and field as her sport.

Gauff took to her Instagram and shared a video of her completing her 400m run and wrote:

"Me finishing my last 400m😭you girl was tired. Been doubling up fitness sessions almost all week plus tennis practice every day loll. Today's "I'm glad I didn't choose track as my sport" workout was 4 sets of 500m, 3 sets of 800M and 5 sets of 400m to finish it off (which was my fav)."

Following this, Gauff added another story where she reshared coach Stephane Dal Soglio's Instagram post that carried glimpses of her workout and was an appreciation post for her WTA Finals win. She reshared a clip of her favorite workout from this post and wrote:

"Lol I know you guys like to see the workouts but I never post them lol😭so click this post and you'll see all the fun and not so fun ones😭This one is my personal fav aka the least amount of "work" one.

Coco Gauff opened up about her WTA Finals win

Coco Gauff reflected on her WTA Finals win by sharing some tweets on X, answering the hate comments, and extending her gratitude towards her supporters. In her first tweet, she highlighted the allegations from her haters and wrote:

"Lol [Laugh out loud]. safe to say I beat the bad season allegations," wrote Gauff.

Following this, Gauff shared a bunch of pictures on X, holding the WTA Finals trophy, and added a caption that read:

"Muah💋💜Also, I know tend to focus on “doubters/haters” but this one is really for all of my supporters! Ya’ll held it down for me win or lose! I thank you for that. I see you and I appreciate you. And I know some of you are a little bit petty like me so it does feel nice to silence them for a bit."

Coco Gauff also reached the semifinals of the Wuhan Open, where she was defeated by Aryna Sabalenka with a score of 1-6, 6-4, 6-4.
