Coco Gauff and her brother Cameron's Deadpool and Wolverine costumes for this year's Halloween sparked a reaction from Jalen Sera. Gauff also responded to Sera calling the tennis star a 'queen'.
Guaff is currently gearing up for the 2024 WTA Finals, where she will be the third seed. Though she had an underwhelming season compared to last year, she has still consistently managed to put up deep runs to clinch a spot in the year-end final for a third consecutive year.
Ahead of a tough tournament, the 20-year-old decided to have fun and celebrate Halloween in style. She teamed up with her brother Cameron Gauff to dress up as the iconic Marvel superhero duo of Deadpool and Wolverine. The two superheroes were the talk of the town during 2024 when their superhit film became a worldwide phenomenon.
She took to Instagram to share some photos of her and Cameron's costumes.
"deadpool & wolverine ❤️💛 #halloween #marvel," she captioned the post
Jalen Sera, who is often seen interacting with Coco Gauff on social media, commented on the above post.
"Spooky season queen🙂↕️," Sera commented.
Gauff responded,
"💅🏾💅🏾💅🏾," the American tennis star responded.
Not only did Gauff receive a reaction from Sera, but she was over the moon when she realized that Hollywood actor and star of the Deadpool franchise, Ryan Reynolds, had reposted her costume on his Instagram story.
"@cocogauff This happened," Reynolds captioned his Instagram story.
The American responded to it and jokingly apologized for her costume.
"AHHHH i'm a huge fan 😭 ❤️ this is crazzzyyyyy. lol sorry but I had to turn deadpool into a city girl 😂 💅🏾 ," Gauff wrote.
But that wasn't the end of the 2023 US Open champion's Halloween escapade, as she also recreated the super popular Deadpool dance to the tunes of NSYNC's "Bye Bye Bye".
Jalen Sera had also reacted to Coco Gauff's name being mentioned in Tyler the Creator's new song
Coco Gauff was taken aback when she realized her name was mentioned in popular musician Tyler, the Creator's new single Thought I Was Dead, from his upcoming album 'Chromakopia'.
The musician referred to the former World No. 2's serving prowess in one of the verses,
"B**ch, you ain't Coco Gauff, you can't serve me," Tyler said.
Gauff, who is a big fan of Tyler, reacted to the American rapper's post on her Instagram story and wrote:
"Me finishing practice to being mentioned on a Tyler song. This is absolutely insane," Gauff wrote.
"Me waking up today on tyler song wtf 😭," she commented on the post
Gauff wasn't the only one who reacted to his shoutout, as Jalen also expressed his delight at the American's name being mentioned.
"😮💨," Sera commented on the rapper's post.
"YACGYCSM!," he posted on his Instagram story.
Gauff will kick off her WTA Finals campaign against her friend and sixth seed Jessica Pegula. Also featured in her group are second seed Iga Swiatek and eighth seed Barbora Krejcikova.
