American tennis star Coco Gauff revealed an unexpected longing during her 2025 Australian Open campaign. Gauff expressed how much she missed her vinyl player setup during her month-long stay in Melbourne.
The 20-year-old's connection to music has been well-documented over the years. She’s frequently name-dropped her favorite artists, including Beyonce, Frank Ocean, and Childish Gambino, and even received a shoutout from rapper Tyler, The Creator in his single 'Thought I Was Dead' from his 2024 album 'Chromakopia.'
During her sixth Australian Open campaign, third-seeded Gauff cruised past opponents like Sofia Kenin, Jodie Burrage, and 30th-seed Leylah Fernandez to reach her second consecutive quarterfinal at Melbourne Park. However, her journey ended in a 5-7, 4-6 loss to 11th seed Paula Badosa.
After the tournament, the 20-year-old returned home to enjoy some well-deserved downtime. On January 24, 2025, Gauff shared an Instagram story featuring her turntable setup, spinning 'Ego Death' album vinyl, the critically acclaimed album by alternative R&B and soul band 'The Internet.'
In her caption, she candidly expressed how much she missed her vinyl player setup during her month-long stint in Australia, humorously adding that she wished she could travel with it, writing:
"Was away from home for a month and I swear this is what I missed the most lol I wish I could travel with it fr."
