Coco Gauff’s mother Candi was impressed with her daughter’s outfit for the 2024 WTA Finals gala in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Coco will make her third appearance at the WTA Finals, which kicks off on November 2.

Candi was a track and field athlete in college and has continued to pursue her passion for sports by supporting her daughter during her matches. Coco is the first child of Candi and Corey Gauff and has two younger brothers, Cameron and Codey.

On Friday, as players gathered at the gala in glamorous outfits, Coco Gauff stood out in a floor-length lavender gown with an off-the-shoulder design and long sleeves that extended into matching gloves. Candi Gauff later shared a photo of her daughter on her Instagram story.

In last season's edition, Gauff reached the semifinals by defeating Ons Jabeur and Marketa Vondroušová in the Rubin Round. She lost to Iga Swiatek in one of her second Rubin Round matches, while Jessica Pegula beat her in the semifinals.

During a press conference at the 2024 Wuhan Open, Coco Gauff spoke about her parents’ constant support, particularly the close bond she shares with her mother. She mentioned that they play Uno together during long trips, such as those in Asia, to stay entertained. Gauff added that they rarely argue, though they did get a bit annoyed with each other recently.

"Yeah, I mean, both my parents are constant support all the time. My mom, it's just a motherly thing. There's nothing like a mother daughter relationship. Especially in swings like Asia where it maybe is more isolated than usual, we just play Uno lot. We actually didn't argue. Yesterday I think was the first time we argued a little bit because we spend too much time with each other. It wasn't an argument, but we just get annoyed," she said.

In the same press conference, Coco Gauff said having her mom at tournaments is of great help, as she is her biggest fan and always handles small reminders.

"Other than that, it's great to have my mom. She's my biggest fan for sure. Having one or both of my parents I think always makes the tournament easier. You don't have to take care of some things. She's always reminding, me, Do you have your headphones, change of shoes, clothes? Just things that moms, dads, they all do. I don't think I'll ever grow out of that as long as they're alive," she added.

Gauff has won two titles this season — at the ASB Classic in Auckland and another at the China Open. She also won her first doubles Grand Slam at the French Open, partnering with Kateřina Siniaková. Going into the WTA Finals, She holds a win-loss record of 48-15.
