Coco Gauff is set to play in the first Grand Slam of the 2025 season in the upcoming Australian Open first round on Sunday, January 12. On the hunt for her second career Grand Slam title, the American revealed her outfit as she gears up.

Gauff shared the attire with fans in a video by WTA on Instagram.

“So this is my fit for AO. I wanted my skirt to be asymmetric, and I wanted it to look like cargo pants. So this is a fake pocket, this is a fake button, and this [her top] is actually a bodysuit," Coco Gauff said.
"And the back is backless cause I wanted to show my skin, and then the cutouts are inspired by, I'm a huge Marvel fans, so superheroes, and all the female superheroes have cool cutouts, so I wanted it have a cool cutout.”

Gauff debuted at the Australian Open in 2020, making it to the round of 16. In 2021, the youngster was knocked out of the tournament in the round of 64, and she only made it to the round of 128 in 2022. Her luck in Melbourne turned around in 2023 when she made a repeat appearance in the round of 16. Last season, she put up a strong run at the Rod Laver Arena, before falling to second seed Aryna Sabalenka in the semifinals.

Coco Gauff has gotten her 2025 off to an unbelievable start, going unbeaten at the United Cup to lead the USA to its second trophy at the mixed team event. The 20-year-old’s campaign in Sydney saw her take down some tough opponents, including former World No.1 Iga Swiatek.

Going into the first Grand Slam of the year, Gauff said that her mindset is focused on being relaxed at the Australian Open pre-event press conference:

“Coming in I think just being relaxed and being chill. I think for me it's like, I know I've been playing well but you know you can't play well all the time, so I know there's going to be some tough moments in this tournament. You know hopefully, I can get through them. But I think, just going in, entering with no pressure and just trying to stay in the moment and enjoy it as much as possible.
That's what I've been doing the last few tournaments and you know the results have obviously been good because of that but just trying to learn to do that even when the results aren't so good."

Gauff will begin her campaign in Melbourne on Sunday, January 12 against compatriot Sofia Kenin. Kenin was the Australian Open champion in 2020 and is currently ranked 81st.
