Madison Keys shared her emotions after winning the first Grand Slam title of her career on Saturday. During the on-court interview following the match, Keys couldn’t hold back her tears of joy as she celebrated the milestone moment. The American said:

"Firstly bear with me, there is no way I get through this without tears.”

Keys praised Aryna Sabalenka's performance and congratulated her, jokingly hinting that she got her revenge after being defeated by the Belarusian in the semifinals of the 2023 US Open.

"Aryna - unbelievable play, I’m glad I finally got you back! Unbelievable tennis, you are so tough to play and we always have the craziest matches. Congratulations to you and your team for an amazing Grand Slam run.”

Keys expressed her gratitude for the incredible support she received, reflecting on her journey in Australia. She fondly recalled reaching her first Grand Slam semifinal at the 2015 Australian Open, where she faced Serena Williams and celebrated the special memory of claiming her first Grand Slam title at the tournament today.

"Thank you to everyone who came out and cheered the last two weeks. I always feel so at home here. I made my first Slam semi-final here, so now to have won my first Grand Slam here means so much to me.”

She also expressed her gratitude to her entire team, thanking them for their incredible support during her challenging times.

"Thank you to my team ... and this is where I’m going to cry. I have wanted this for so long, I have been to one other Grand Slam final and it did not go my way and I didn’t know if I’d ever get back to this position to try and win a trophy again. But my team believed in me every step of the way, so thank you so much.”
