Coco Gauff decided to dress up as beloved Marvel superhero Deadpool for her Halloween celebrations. While the World No. 3 did not share a full picture of herself with the entire costume on, she did reveal a brief glimpse of the superhero's mask that she wore.
Gauff is currently in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, preparing to get her 2024 WTA Finals campaign underway. The 2023 US Open champion endured a difficult first half of the ongoing season, suffering several disappointing results across various prestigious tournaments.
However, after parting ways with iconic coach Brad Gilbert and roping in new members to rejuvenate her coaching setup, her results have drastically improved. Gauff won her eigth WTA Tour-level title at the recently concluded 2024 China Open, and followed it up with a run to the semifinals of another WTA 1000 tournament, the Wuhan Open.
Recently, Gauff took to her Instagram Stories and shared a picture of herself where she could be seen with a Deadpool mask on for Halloween. She captioned the post:
"You got games on yo phone?????"
"Also a sneak peek of my costume too lol," Gauff added.
Earlier this month, Gauff had made her way to Universal Studios' Halloween party, where she sported a pair of skull-themed jeans.
On the tennis front, the World No. 3 will be keen on continuing her rich vein of post-US Open form at the WTA Finals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Coco Gauff drawn in Orange Group for WTA Finals 2024
The Round Robin stage of the WTA Finals consists of two groups; Purple and Orange. For this season's edition of the prestigious year-end event, the Purple group consists of Aryna Sabalenka, Jasmine Paolini, Elena Rybakina, and Zheng Qinwen. Meanwhile, Gauff is in the Orange Group, alongside Iga Swiatek, Jessica Pegula and Barbora Krejcikova.
While the year-end tournament is set to commence on Saturday, November 2, Gauff is slated to play her first match against compatriot Pegula the next day. The 2024 WTA Finals will mark Gauff's third straight appearance at the event.
The 2023 US Open champion suffered defeats in all of her group stage encounters against Iga Swiatek, Daria Kasatkina and eventual champion Caroline Garcia in 2022. Last year, Gauff reached the semifinals, where she lost to Jessica Pegula.
