Coco Gauff recently shared a comical moment with her coach Jean-Christophe Faurel while attempting to document her latest gym session. The American has been hard at work in her pre-season training, gearing up for the looming 2025 season.

Gauff wrapped up her 2024 season in remarkable fashion, winning her second career WTA 1000 title at the China Open. The American went to clinch her maiden WTA Finals title in Riyadh, becoming the youngest player to triumph at the year-end championships since Maria Sharapova, as well as the youngest American since Serena Williams.

After concluding her season, the American commenced her off-season by enjoying live music at the Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival in Los Angeles before making a stop in Boston to work on some "cool stuff" with her sponsor New Balance. Coco Gauff then embraced the holiday spirit by hosting her first "cousins/friendsgiving" at her house, baking sweet potato pie and banana bread for the occasion.

The American has since shifted her focus to her pre-season training, kicking things off by donning a metabolic mask on the treadmill while experiencing "first day of school vibes."

Gauff recently showcased her strength by lifting 245 pounds for five reps. However, her impressive display was initially obstructed by her coach, Jean-Christophe Faurel, who unintentionally stepped into the frame. The World No. 3 joked that he was trying to sabotage the footage with his 'butt.'

"245 for 5. Lol jc tryna block the video with his 🍑🤣," she posted on her Instagram story.

Following her shock fourth-round exit at the 2024 US Open, Coco Gauff made changes to her coaching team, parting ways with Brad Gilbert and bringing on Matt Daly to join Jean-Christophe Faurel.

In a press conference at the 2024 WTA Finals, the World No. 3 expressed satisfaction with how well Daly and Faurel "blended" together, highlighting their efforts to help her with long-term improvements, especially to her serve.

"Yeah, I think for me, I knew I wanted someone to help me with what I wanted to see progress in, especially on the serve. Adding Matt to the team has been really great. Obviously JC, I've worked with him before. I think he has very good insight, all-court game. Yeah, I think the two blend together well" Gauff said.
"For me, at least my personal things that I was looking for, is someone that was going to help me improve for the long-term and be committed to that," she added.

In recognition of her remarkable success this season, Coco Gauff has received a nomination for the WTA Player of the Year award, alongside Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, Jasmine Paolini, and Zheng Qinwen.
