Fans expressed disappointment with Caroline Garcia for recording a podcast episode with Nick Kyrgios. Garcia had recently drawn attention to the online abuse she faced after losing several matches, and many fans criticized her for associating with Kyrgios, alleging that he too is an "abuser" and should not be promoted.

On August 28, Garcia posted several images of the messages she had been receiving online after losing some matches. She raised compelling arguments about how the abuse can be detrimental to the new and young players on tour and also mentioned that 'social media platforms don’t prevent it'.

Meanwhile, Kyrgios has come under criticism on several occasions, lately. He has been under fire from fans for the way he has spoken out against Jannik Sinner's doping controversy. Moreover, he even made a controversial comment about Sinner's girlfriend Anna Kalinskaya, who is also Kyrgios' ex.

However, Garcia took to X to promote an episode she shot with Kyrgios for her 'Tennis Insider Club' podcast. The Frenchwoman called him 'one of the most charismatic players on tour'.

Fans were disappointed with Garcia's promotion of Kyrgios.

"You were complaining internet bullies couple days ago, now you are making podcast with a bully + domestic abuser. Make it sense!" one fan wrote.
"Please Caro... I understand you can have that conversation but he has derailed completely with his comments including @WTA women. Stop promoting this guy or your image will just go the wrong way," another fan wrote.
"Disappointing you put a women abuser on your channel just for views," a third fan wrote.

Here are some more fan reactions to Caroline Garcia promoting her podcast episode with Nick Kyrgios.

"This guy is a menace to everyone he's around, especially women, you can do so much better Caro," one fan wrote.
"Complaining about online bullying and praising someone who does that to others... I'm so disappointed," another fan wrote.
"I’m very disappointed in you. I really admired you , Caroline but this is not right. You must do better," yet another fan wrote.

Nick Kyrgios shared a poll on X between the men's singles 2024 US Open finalists Taylor Fritz and Jannik Sinner a few days ago. In the comments, one fan posted an image of Anna Kalinskaya and Kyrgios together. The Aussie noted the image and responded with a seemingly derogatory remark:

"Second serve"

He faced backlash for the comment, so, he defended himself by stating:

"Don’t you think it’s hilarious how quickly people get triggered 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 with a couple words, or emojis…. Too much power," Kyrgios wrote.

However, later it was revealed that Kyrgios had taken down the comment. Meanwhile, Sinner defeated Fritz in straight sets in the final and celebrated with Kalinskaya who watched the summit clash from the Italian's box.
