Serena Williams' husband and Reddit co-founder, Alexis Ohanian, recently posted a heartwarming photo of himself and his daughter, Olympia, cheering on athletes at the finish line of Athlos NYC. Williams and Ohanian are parents to two children - their firstborn, Olympia, born on September 1, 2017, and their youngest daughter, Adira River Ohanian, born in August 2023.

Ohanian is a staunch advocate of women's sports and he launched his latest venture, Athlos, a professional, female-only track and field competition series, this year. The event took place at Icahn Stadium in New York City on September 26, 2024 .

This competition boasted the largest prize purse in track and field history, and World Athletics even granted the event 'silver status,' allowing athletes to earn valuable ranking points

Recently, Alexis Ohanian took to social media to share an adorable picture of a moment that captured him and his eldest daughter, Olympia, enthusiastically supporting and cheering on the athletes at the finish line at Athlos.

The tech entrepreneur expressed that Athlos NYC and cheering for the athletes will forever hold a special place for Olympia and be one of her 'core memories.'

While speaking about Athlos, Serena Williams' husband, Alexis Ohanian, stated that because of legendary players like his wife, Billie Jean King, and Venus Williams, tennis is a well compensated sport but track and field lags far behind in terms of financial rewards.

“Thanks to Billie [Jean King] and thanks to Serena and Venus, [tennis] is a very well-compensated sport now for women. Golf is another one that’s tracking in terms of compensation. But track and field is still very, very, very behind,” Ohanian said [via Vogue].

Ohanian pointed that American women have always excelled at track and field at the Olympics. He also expressed he intends to organize Athlos again next year and then see how to proceed with the event going forward

“The American women have always been exceptional in track and field. We're all captivated by these women during the Olympics, then for four years it seems like they disappear. At a minimum, we’re doing it again next year. I have that ambition and our team has that ambition. At the same time, we also know we’ve got to earn our way back in here,” he added .

Serena Williams, Alexis Ohanian, and their daughter Olympia are also involved in women's soccer. They serve as co-owners of the National Women's Soccer League club, Angel City F.C
