Danielle Collins called herself Coco Gauff's "backup dancer" and showed off her 'twerking' skills in a newly released vlog as the USA advanced into the final of the 2025 United Cup.
During an on-court interview following her impressive win over Karolina Muchova in the semifinal of the United Cup, Gauff was asked about Collins creating a vlog and if the 20-year-old was trying to keep the team young.
"Danielle is pretty young. I’m surprised she hasn’t done some twerking yet. I had to tell her not do do that," Gauff responded.
Taking to Instagram, the WTA's official account posted a video of the interview captioning it:
"We love when @danimalcollins has the camera!"
Collins reposted it on her Instagram stories and added:
"I call myself #Coco's backup dancer"
Later, Taylor Fritz took on Tomas Machac in the men's singles. The Czech player won the first set via tiebreaker but had to retire before the completion of the second set due to cramps. As a result, the 2023 United Cup champions USA advanced to the final to play Poland for the title.
Soon after the result was announced, the WTA and Collins jointly released her vlog.
Snippets from Gauff's match against Muchova featured in the vlog with the 20-year-old celebrating after her win. Coco's mother Candi also made an appearance with Collins twerking at the end. The 31-year-old reposted the reel to her stories as well.
Danielle Collins, Coco Gauff reveal what their ideal party would look like; Collins calls twerking her "signature move"
Team USA's Danielle Collins, Coco Gauff, and Taylor Fritz participated in a lighthearted Q&A with the United Cup media team. When asked about their ideal party, Collins envisioned it taking place in Las Vegas and featuring her "signature move."
"There would be a lot of twerking obviously because that's like my signature move and be in Las Vegas for sure," Collins answered.
Gauff expressed her love for food and said:
"A lot of food because I like to eat. Definitely Danielle has to be there with her dance moves, play some games"
Fritz, on the other hand, said:
"Drink, for sure, drinking games, a lot of friends."
The USA is aiming for its second United Cup title and will face Poland, the 2024 runner-up, in the final on Sunday, January 5. The singles matchups are expected to feature Coco Gauff against Iga Swiatek and Taylor Fritz against Hubert Hurkacz.
