Danielle Collins addressed the media ahead of the 2025 Australian Open on Saturday, January 11, and suggested that Iga Swiatek's doping scandal didn't worry her. Collins' views are in stark contrast with what British tennis sensation Emma Raducanu had to say about it.

Swiatek tested positive for trimetazidine (TMZ) in September 2024 from a contaminated dose of clostebol and faced a one-month ban from the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA), despite the agency declaring unintentional doping.

Raducanu revealed in Melbourne that she avoided using a spray for an allergy, worrying about the potential repercussions if something went south.

"I got bitten by I don't know what, like ants, mosquitoes, something. I'm allergic," Emma Raducanu said. They flared up and swelled up really a lot. Someone was giving me this antiseptic spray. I didn't want to take it. I didn't want to spray it. I'm just going to tough it out because I don't want to risk it," Raducanu told the press.

Responding to a Sportskeeda question about having similar apprehensions after the Iga Swiatek scandal, Danielle Collins, sitting in the press room at Melbourne Park denied having similar fears.

"Honestly, I empathize for people that have struggled with issues with their supplements and contamination. I'm sure that's a real thing. But honestly, it just hasn't been a big concern to me, because I feel like I have a lot of trust in my daily vitamins and the stuff that I'm using," the American said.
"I feel like with all the third-party testing that they are doing now and making sure that a lot of those factories where they're producing these products, they're pretty stringent on what can be made in those facilities. So it hasn't been something that I have been fearful of," he added.

Answering the same question further at the 2025 Australian Open, Danielle Collins noted she consumed only the supplements that have gone through rigorous testing.

"All my vitamins and supplements are third-party tested, and they always have been. I only take supplements that have NSF for sports certification or informed choice. Yeah, that's just been a practice I have done throughout my entire career," the World No. 11 said.

The American further revealed that she goes by what her doctor tells her to consume.

"I'm being as cautious as I have always been. I'm not somebody that's heavily medicated. I take daily vitamins and whatever my doctor advises me, but I'm not too worried about my supplements. I feel like if you can get your supplements from trustworthy brands and get them approved, there shouldn't really be an issue," Collins added.

Danielle Collins will get her 2025 Australian Open campaign underway against Ukraine's Daria Snigur in the first round.
