Danielle Collins recently reacted to Sloane Stephens' public display of affection with her husband Jozy Altidore in New York. The couple got engaged in 2019 and tied the knot on New Year's Day in 2022 in Florida.
Jozy Altidore is an American soccer player who has played for clubs like Toronto FC, Villarreal, and Sunderland, amongst others. Altidore and Stephens have often discussed how their shared experience as athletes helps them understand and support each other better.
On Sunday, the former World No. 3 posted a video featuring a loving moment between her and her husband. She captioned the video:
“My forever love”.
Hours later, Danielle Collins gushed about their romance in the comments section.
“Power couple!!” she commented.
Jozy Altidore also expressed his love for Stephens by commenting on the video.
“Love my baby,” he wrote.
Sloane Stephens has struggled with form for most of this season. Her best performance came at the final of the Open de Rouen, where she was defeated by Magda Linette in the final. At Grand Slam tournaments this season, she didn’t advance beyond the third round, which only happened at the Australian Open.
On the other hand, Danielle Collins is having the best season of her career. She had earlier announced that she would be retiring at the end of the season due to health concerns and the desire to start a family. She won her first Masters title, the 2024 Miami Open, in March by defeating Elena Rybakina in the final.
The following week, she won the Charleston Open by defeating Daria Kasatkina, marking her fourth singles title.
Collins also represented the United States at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She defeated Laura Siegemund, Caroline Wozniacki, and María Camila Osorio before retiring in the quarterfinal match against Iga Swiatek due to an injury.

Collins defeated Daria Kasatkina in the final to lift the title. The second meeting occurred in the third round of the Charleston Open, where Collins defeated Stephens 6-2, 6-2. Similar to the 2021 Silicon Valley Classic, Collins went on to beat Daria Kasatkina again to win the Charleston Open.
In their careers, Stephens has had better results in Grand Slams. She won the 2017 US Open and reached the final of the 2018 French Open. In comparison, Danielle Collins’ best Grand Slam results were reaching the final of the 2022 Australian Open and the quarterfinals of the 2020 French Open.
