Daniil Medvedev has his fair share of funny moments on tour. In an ATP promotional video in Melbourne, Medvedev was supposed to greet the fans for the upcoming year but he ended up making a hilarious mistake.

In a video posted by a fan, a crew member can be heard giving Medvedev instructions regarding what is to be said.

"You have to say "I'm Daniil Medvedev wishing you a year full of blessings", but we'll hold it under the camera so you can read it." the crew member said.

The video then cuts to 26-year-old's first attempt at the greeting. But instead of saying his own name, Medvedev said:

"I am XXX wishing you..." he laughed along with the crew

In the video, Medvedev can be seen laughing alongside the crew at his flub. After a fan posted the video to Twitter, Medvedev took notice of the same and responded to the video with emojis.

One fan even stated that now 'XXX' should be his nickname.

"XXX should be one of your nicknames" a fan tweeted

The World no. 12 was joking even after last year's Australian Open final where he lost to Spain's Rafael Nadal in an epic five-set five-hour match.

In his runner-up speech where he thanked his wife, who was not present at Melbourne Park, he suggested the TV may be broken as he lost the match after being up by two sets.

"I thank my wife but I think maybe the TV is broken now" he joked.
