Daniil Medvedev’s wife, Daria, has broken her social media silence days after the tennis player broke the internet by announcing the arrival of their second child together. Daria was captured with their daughter, Alisa, in the recently shared pictures.

Medvedev married his longtime partner Daria in 2018. The couple welcomed their first child, daughter Alisa, in October 2022, keeping the pregnancy out of the public eye. At the time, the former World No. 1 surprised his fans and followers by sharing a picture of their newborn child.

"14.10.2022. Welcome to the world baby girl," he wrote.

Daniil Medvedev and his wife Daria followed a similar trend before the birth of their second child. Although Medvedeva frequently accompanied the tennis player to his tournaments alongside Alisa, she kept her pregnancy a secret.

On January 7, the 2021 US Open champion shared a picture of him and his two-year-old daughter sitting on the hospital bed as he lovingly cradled his second child.

"Happy 2025," he wrote about the new addition to the family.

On January 10, Medvedev’s wife, too, broke her social media silence to share unseen pregnancy photoshoot pictures. Medvedeva happily flaunted her baby bump while holding their eldest child in her arms.

"Girls power 06.01.2025," she wrote, hinting at the new baby's birthdate.

Daniil Medvedev has yet to open his 2025 campaign. While the player was spotted training with his rival Jannik Sinner in Monte Carlo during the offseason, he was conspicuous by his absence in Melbourne until recently, which raised concern among fans. The Russian’s latest family update now explains his late arrival.

Ahead of his appearance at the 2025 Australian Open, Medvedev addressed his decision not to compete before the Grand Slam event. He also withdrew from the World Tennis League exhibition in Abu Dhabi in December.

"I feel like I'm at the age where I want to be at home," Daniil Medvedev said in his press conference.
"I don't see myself ever playing something before Australian Open because I really like to spend this (holiday) time with my family, which is growing," he said about the birth of his second child.

He also shed light on his family’s holiday traditions and voiced optimism about his delayed return.

"I don't celebrate Christmas the 25th, but in Russia it's more important the 31st and the 1st is very important. That's where Santa Claus comes in Russia and gives you presents, et cetera," he said.
"So yeah, I think the season starts too early. But I feel great, because it gives me extra time to practice. I think we're going to see a lot of interesting things from me, and I'm looking forward to it," the 28-year-old added.

Daniil Medvedev, who has reached three Australian Open finals (2021, 2022 and, 2024), begins his campaign against Thai wildcard Kasidit Samrej on Monday, January 13.
