Daniil Medvedev's wife Daria is enjoying quality time with their one-year-old daughter Alisa on the beach while her husband is competing for a medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Daria shared a sweet photo of their mother-daughter moment with fans.
The couple ot married in 2018 and welcomed their first child, Alisa, in 2022.
On July 30, Daria Medvedeva posted a picture of Alisa on the beach on her Instagram story and captioned it with a heart emoji. The photo showed the one-year-old donning a pink hat and a green-white dress.
Medvedev is competing at the Paris Olympics as an Individual Neutral Athlete, due to the sanctions imposed on Russia and Belarus by the International Tennis Federation. The Russian is seeded fourth in the men’s singles event and has advanced to the third round after defeating Australia's Rinky Hijikata and Austria's Sebastian Ofner in straight sets.
However, the 28-year-old has not had much success in the doubles events. He suffered a shock defeat in the first round of the men’s doubles with his partner Roman Safiullin, losing 4-6, 4-6 to the German duo of Kevin Krawietz and Tim Putz.
Daniil Medvedev also crashed out of the mixed doubles with his teenage partner Mirra Andreeva, who reached the semifinals of the French Open this year. They were beaten 6-3, 6-2 by the Italian pair of Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori.
Daniil Medvedev praises wife Daria for being his pillar of strength in managing fatherhood and tennis
Daniil Medvedev commended his wife Daria for enabling him to manage both fatherhood and his tennis career effectively.
In an interview with Tennis.com earlier this year, Medvedev discussed the difficulties of balancing parenthood with his professional tennis commitments. He admitted that juggling these responsibilities was no easy feat and credited his wife's support as instrumental in achieving this balance.
"It’s not easy with tennis, because if you want to see your daughter a lot, then your wife has to sacrifice a lot. She has to travel with the baby, and many times it’s her taking the plane and not me. Being on a plane with a baby is not easy. I’ve done it a couple of times, she’s done it ten times more than me," Medvedev said.
Daniil Medvedev will take on 13th seed Felix Auger-Aliassime in the Round of 16 on July 31. The Winner of this match will take on either Norwegian sixth seed Casper Ruud or Argentina's Francisco Cerundolo in the quarterfinals.
