Daniil Medvedev weighed in on the ongoing feud between Nick Kyrgios and Jannik Sinner and its impact on the locker room. According to Medvedev, not much has changed despite Kyrgios' relentless attacks on Sinner over the Italian's doping row. The controversial Australian maintains that the World No. 1 should be banned due to his doping controversy.

Medvedev, a three-time Australian Open runner-up, recently arrived in Melbourne for the 2025 edition of the hardcourt Major, shortly after his wife Daria gave birth to the couple's second child. At a pre-tournament press conference, the former No. 1 was asked if Kyrgios' harsh remarks about Sinner have created a rift in the locker room.

The Russian stated that his recent arrival in Melbourne makes it difficult for him to conclusively say if the feud has affected the locker room. He also revealed that so far, he hasn't run into Kyrgios. Daniil Medvedev concluded by saying that the overall mood of the locker room hasn't been somber over the Australian's ongoing conflict with Sinner.

"It's tough for me to say. I've been here one-and-a-half days. Everyone that sees me in the locker room for the moment is congratulating me. I have a lot of harmony in the locker room. I didn't see Nick yet. Actually would be interesting to see if they pass with Jannik, how it is, what is the energy. But if not, I think it depends, again, exactly like in the end of the day," Daniil Medvedev said.
"You know players you talk to more, players you talk to less. People you smile with and laugh, and maybe other ones you just say hi. In general, let's call it the beef or the arguing between two, three, four players, is not going to change the whole locker room I think. I didn't see any change," he added.

Since news about Jannik Sinner testing positive for a prohibited substance broke prior to the 2024 US Open, Nick Kyrgios has continued to call out both the authorities and Sinner himself. The Australian has also stirred controversy by taking a swipe at his ex-girlfriend Anna Kalinskaya, who is currently dating Sinner.

More recently, Kyrgios made the news for all the wrong reasons after taking further swipes at Sinner on a photo posted by former No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt's son Cruz on Instagram. The photo featured Cruz posing alongside Sinner.

During a press conference at the 2024 China Open, Medvedev had laid bare his sympathies for Sinner over the Italian's doping row.

Daniil Medvedev opened up on his thoughts about Jannik Sinner's case during a press conference at the 2024 China Open. The Russian echoed Carlos Alcaraz's sentiments on the subject, saying:

"Nobody wants to be in that situation. I can't imagine receiving an email saying I failed a doping test for whatever reason, cocaine or whatever drug you don't even know the name of. It's like... 'Wow, what do I do now?'. Because I have no idea what's in my pee, my blood, or whatever," Daniil Medvedev said.

"It's a complicated situation. He does what he has to do, and WADA does what they have to do. We'll see how it ends. We thought it was all over, and it isn't. I stand with Carlos, on Jannik's side. I don't think this will affect the image of tennis," he added.

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) appealed against the decision of the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) to let Sinner continue playing. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) is set to hear WADA's appeal this year. WADA is seeking a ban of one to two years for Sinner. Recently, the CEO of ITIA opined that the Italian is likely to be given a long suspension if WADA's appeal is successful.
