Denis Shapovalov has candidly revealed the extent of sacrifices he would be willing to make to fulfill his dream of winning a Grand Slam title. However, the Canadian firmly stated that one particular part of his body was off-limits.

Shapovalov, like most professional tennis players, has made no secret about his desire to win a Major title. The 25-year-old came closest to achieving that dream at the 2021 Wimbledon Championships, making a run to the semifinals of a Grand Slam for the first time in his career before losing to eventual champion Novak Djokovic.

Despite his determination to triumph at a Major, the Canadian admitted that he drew the line at sacrificing his p*nis. During a recent appearance on 'The Slice Tennis' podcast, Denis Shapovalov, who is engaged to fellow tennis player Mirjam Bjorklund, emphasized that he wouldn't consider it even after they have children.

The 25-year-old further asserted that he wouldn't give up any part of his body or his loved ones, but expressed his willingness to part with anything else to accomplish his goal.

"Definitely not my piece. No, I love tennis but I don't think I'm willing to... I don't know what I'd be willing to give up. Does it have to be a body part? Besides, my body parts I'd willing to give up almost anything. Obviously not my family and the ones important to me but anything else, I'm ready to do it," Denis Shapovalov said.

Shapovalov's quest to win his maiden Major title at the 2025 Australian Open may be in jeopardy since the Canadian has contracted a virus in the lead-up to the Melbourne Slam, which is scheduled to commence on January 12.

Denis Shapovalov kicked off his 2025 season at the Bank of China Hong Kong Tennis Open, where he suffered a 6-2, 6-3 loss to Kei Nishikori in the opening round. Following the match, the 25-year-old took to social media and admitted that his illness had hindered his performance and prevented him from delivering his best effort on the court.

"Thanks for the warm welcome Hong Kong. It was great to start my season with the amazing fans here ❤️ Unfortunately I have been struggling with a virus & disappointed I couldn’t play at my fullest, but I did my best to be out there. I hope to come back to @Hkto_mens next year 🙏🏼🇭🇰," Shapovalov posted on X.

Despite his ultimate goal of winning a Grand Slam title, Denis Shapovalov has set his sights on breaking back into the top 10 of the ATP rankings after his prolonged struggle with a knee injury as his main aspiration for the 2025 season.

"Since my injury, my goal has been to return to the top 10 so it remains the same. Yeah, whatever that takes, hopefully I win titles, hopefully I go deep in tournaments but the goal is to get back to the top 10," Shapovalov said during the same podcast.

The Canadian, who has a career-high ranking of World No. 10, ended the 2024 season as the World No. 56 with a 26-23 win/loss record. Shapovalov concluded the year on a high note, triumphing at the Belgrade Open after entering the ATP 250 event as a qualifier.

The victory marked Denis Shapovalov's first tour-level title in five years, ending a drought that began after his triumph at the 2019 Stockholm Open and earning him a proud reaction from his fiance Mirjam Bjorklund.
