Sue Barker was present at Centre Court as Andy Murray was given a Wimbledon following his men's doubles exit. The 37-year-old partnered his brother Jamie, and the duo lost 7-6(6), 6-4 to the Australian pair of John Peers and Rinky Hijikata.

Barker, who won the French Open in 1976, was a presenter for the BBC at the grass-court Major until she left the role in 2022. However, the 68-year-old made a return to Centre Court to interview Andy Murray, who was given a farewell after his men's doubles defeat.

The 37-year-old, who withdrew from the men's singles event, partnered his brother Jamie, and the pair lost 7-6(6), 6-4 to the Australian duo of Rinky Hijikata and John Peers.

Several fans were delighted to see Sue Barker return to Centre Court, with one claiming that it was a "disgrace" that the 68-year-old was no longer a presenter at SW19.

"It is a disgrace that Sue is still not presenting at Wimbledon. You can hear how much the crowd love her. She is so good at her job too because she understands all too well the emotions involved with the game," the fan wrote.

One fan said that Barker's presence showed how much she was missed at Wimbledon.

"The icing on the Wimbledon cake. Reminded us of how much she is missed. And Andy deserves nothing less," one fan said.

Another fan likened Barker's absence from the London Major to strawberries without cream.

"Sue Barker back where she belongs! Not having Sue at Wimbledon is like strawberries with no cream! Never be the same," the fan said.

Here are some more fan reactions to Sue Barker's presence at SW19:

"Great to see Sue . She is sorely missed . Nobody else could have given Andy that send off," one fan commented.
"She should still be presenting Wimbledon now," another fan said.
"Well done to whoever thought of this. So wonderful to see Sue again, and it was perfect for this moment. Such a lovely and sensitive interview," another fan remarked.

Andy Murray will partner Emma Raducanu in the women's doubles event at Wimbledon. The pair received a wildcard for the tournament.

They will face the Salvadoran-Chinese pair of Marcelo Arevalo and Zhang Shuai, who received a protected ranking for the main draw of the mixed doubles competition at the London Major. The winner of the match will take on either the all-British duo of Marcus Willis and Alicia Barnett or eighth seeds Ivan Dodig and Chan Hao-ching.

This will be the second time Andy Murray is competing in the mixed doubles tournament at Wimbledon. His last appearance came in 2019, when he partnered Serena Williams. The pair reached the third round following wins over Alex Mies and Alexa Guarachi, and 14th seeds Fabrice Martin and Raquel Atawo. Here, they lost to top seeds Bruno Soares and Nicole Melichar-Martinez.
