Taylor Fritz had a remarkable run at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where he partnered with Tommy Paul to secure a bronze medal in the men's doubles event. The duo battled against Tomas Machac and Adam Pavlasek of the Czech Republic, winning the match 6-3, 6-4.

Fritz also competed in both the singles and mixed doubles events, though the outcomes were not as fruitful for the American. In singles, the 26-year-old advanced past Alexander Bublik and Jack Draper in the early rounds but ultimately succumbed to eventual bronze medalist Lorenzo Musetti 6-4, 7-5 in the third round.

In mixed doubles, Fritz teamed up with Coco Gauff, who had the honor of being the flag bearer for the U.S. at the Olympics. However, their run was cut short in the quarterfinals, where they were defeated by Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime and Gabriela Dabrowski, who went on to claim the bronze medal.

However, following his Olympic success, Fritz’s performance in the North American hardcourt swing has been less than stellar. The World No. 12's journey began with the 2024 National Bank Open in Canada, where he defeated Mariano Navone 6-4, 6-1 in the first round. The American finally concluded his campaign with a 4-6, 6-7(4) loss to compatriot Sebastian Korda in the second round.

Fritz’s struggles continued at the Cincinnati Open, where he was defeated in the first round by compatriot Brandon Nakashima 6-4, 4-6, 7-6(4). The match was not without controversy, as a contentious decision by the umpire during the match led to a heated exchange between the American and the umpire.

Taylor Fritz will now participate in the 2024 US Open which will begin on August 19.
