Donna Vekic was quick to catch tennis journalist Jose Morgado for mixing her name up with Aleksander Vukic while listing the line-up for the men's third round at the 2025 Australian Open. The Croat was hilariously mistaken for Aleksandar Vukic.

The third round of the Melbourne Major will commence on Friday, January 17. Morgado took to X to list the upcoming third-round matches and accidentally wrote Vekic's name in place of Vukic's.

"#AusOpen Men's Singles Bottom half:
[7]Djokovic Vs Machac, [24]Lehecka Vs Bonzi, [15] Draper vs. Vekic, [3] Alcaraz vs.Borges, Mensik vs. Davidovich Fokina, [12] Paul vs. Caraballes, [14] Hmbert vs. [20] Fils, [2] Zverev vs. Fearnley."

The post caught Vekic's attention and she reacted by hilariously acknowledging that it would be a "tough" matchup.

"Gonna be a tough one for me," the Croat replied.

While Jack Draper will clash with Aleksander Vukic on the men's side, Donna Vekic will be up against Diana Schnaider on the women's side of the draw.

Donna Vekic will square off against 12th seed Diana Schnaider in the third round of the 2025 Australian Open at the Margret Court Arena on Friday, January 17.

Vekic started her campaign with a straight-set 6-4, 6-4 victory over Diane Parry in the opening round. She next faced lucky loser Harriet Dart in the second round. Dart made the most of the opportunity to play in the main draw by taking away the first set. However, the 2024 Olympics silver medalist fought back to dominate and eventually win 4-6, 6-0, 6-2.

In an on-court interview after the match, the World No. 19 reflected on her 2023 Australian Open quarterfinal run and the confidence that it gave her to going into this year.

"Actually, this is one of my favorite courts on tour. So when I saw the schedule, I saw I was playing here, I was really happy, really excited and it's really great to be back in Australia. I've had some tough matches here, some good wins, some tough lessons but hopefully, this will be another good year for me," she said [at 2:33].

Meanwhile, Diana Shnaider overcame Elisabetta Cocciaretto 7-6(4), 6-4 in the first round before beating Ajla Tomljanovic 6-4, 7-5 to reach the third round of the Melbourne Major for the first time in her career.

The previous and only encounter between the two players was in the final of the 2024 Bad Homburg Open, where Schnaider won 6-3, 2-6, 6-3.
