On Wednesday (Nov. 13), Serena Williams' husband, Alexis Ohanian, shared a health update highlighting his progress. The Reddit co-founder has made significant lifestyle changes over the past year, resulting in improved cholesterol levels.

Ohanian took to X to share a mirror selfie from the gym. He said that he dragged himself to work out before catching a flight. Further, he revealed the lifestyle changes that have helped improve his health.

"Dragged my a** in here before flying out. Eating clean the last year, pretty consistent taking my daily atorvastatin [a medication that helps manage cholesterol], and only drinking booze on special occasions. Lift Routine is the same tho. Just got another lipid panel back an LDL (bad cholesterol) has improved! It's now 89," Ohanian captioned his post on X.

In the comments, Ohanian referred to sugar as a "menace," advising others to avoid it. When a fan asked if he’d ever run a marathon, he jokingly replied:

"Big fella doesn’t run."

In July, Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian revealed he was diagnosed with Lyme disease. It is an infectious illness caused by bacteria transmitted through the bite of infected black-legged ticks.

Taking to X, Ohanian wrote that he found out about the diagnosis during a regular health scan without showing any symptoms.

"Doing a full battery of health scans, tests, etc, and found out I have lyme disease. Wild. No symptoms, thankfully, but gonna treat. Good cholesterol is too low. Bad cholesterol is just OK. Gotta work on that. On the plus-side: 822 ng/dL total + 162 ng/dL free testosterone," Ohanian wrote.

He shared that a loved one had experienced numerous symptoms a few years back, and it took a while to diagnose until they finally tested for Lyme disease and identified it, successfully treating it. Given how rarely he spends time in the wilderness, he found this diagnosis quite surprising.

However, Ohanian was not to be kept down, as he added:

"Anyway, gonna grab some antibiotics — can't keep me down, tick!"

Serena Williams also shared a health update earlier in October, revealing that back in May, she discovered a lump on her neck. After an MRI, doctors diagnosed it as a branchial cyst, which did not require immediate removal. However, as it grew to the "size of a small grapefruit," doctors advised surgery.

Grateful that everything went smoothly, Williams confirmed she was healthy. However, she missed several events including the Glamour Magazine Woman of the Year awards and Rafael Nadal's retirement.
