Elena Rybakina's sister, Anna, recently reacted to an adorable selfie of the Kazakh with a quokka. Rybakina is currently in Australia competing at the 2025 United Cup.
The 25-year-old concluded her 2024 season by participating in the WTA Finals. Following that she took part in the World Tennis League, an exhibition tournament which was held in Abu Dhabi. Rybakina represented Team Falcons, who went on to win the event after beating Team Hawks in the final. Her teammates included Andrey Rublev, Caroline Garcia, and Denis Shapovalov.
Elena Rybakina is currently competing at the United Cup, representing Kazakhstan alongside the likes of Alexander Shevchenko, Dmitry Popko, Zhibek Kulambayeva, and Aleksandr Nedovyesov. The Kazakhs are a part of Group C along with Spain and Greece and is competing at the RAC Arena in Perth. Rybakina and her team started strong by defeating Spain with a score of 2-1.
After the win, the 2022 Wimbledon champion took to social media to share a delightful selfie she clicked with a quokka, which are small cat-sized marsupials mainly found on Rottnest Island. These animals are known for their seemingly ever-smiling faces due to the shape of their mouths because of which people always tend to click pictures with them.

Reacting to the photo, Elena Rybakina's sister Anna commented with a series of emojis.
“🥹 🥹 🥹 🥹 😭 😭 😭 ," Anna commented.
Rybakina had a successful season in 2024, securing three titles. She began by winning the 2024 Brisbane International, followed by the Abu Dhabi Open and the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix title in Stuttgart. She also finished as the runner-up at the Qatar Open and the Miami Open
At the Grand Slam tournaments, the former World No.3 reached the second round at the Australian Open, quarterfinals at the French Open, semifinals at Wimbledon, and the second round at the US Open before withdrawing from the match due to a lower back injury
Elena Rybakina will compete at Australian Open 2025 after the United Cup
After completing her campaign at the 2025 United Cup with Kazakhstan, Elena Rybakina will compete at the Australian Open which is scheduled to take place from January 12 to January 26, 2025.
Rybakina's most best performance at the Melbourne Major came in 2023. She was seeded 22nd in the tournament and kicked off her campaign by defeating Elisabetta Cocciaretto 7-5, 6-3 in the first round, followed by a victory over Kaja Juvan 6-2, 6-1 in the second round.
The former World No.3 then went on to overcome 13th seed Danielle Collins 6-2, 5-7, 6-2, and top seed Iga Swiatek 6-4, 6-4 in the third and fourth rounds, respectively.
In the quarterfinals, Rybakina bested 17th seed Jeļena Ostapenko 6-2, 6-4, and in the semifinals, she triumphed over 24th seed Victoria Azarenka 7-6(4), 6-3 to secure her spot in the final.
In the championship match, Elena Rybakina fell short of claiming her second Grand Slam title, losing to fifth seed Aryna Sabakenka 6-4, 3-6, 4-6.
