Based on her Instagram engagement since 2023, Emma Raducanu has been featured in the Top 10 list of female Gen-Z athletes. The Brit is ranked 3rd on the list, ahead of stars like Caitlin Clark, Cameron Brink, and others.

Raducanu catapulted to stardom when she became the first qualifier (male or female) to win a Grand Slam with her at the 2021 US Open. She defeated Leylah Fernandez in the all-teenage final in straight sets.

However, Raducanu wasn't able to carry on her form owing to injury troubles in her wrists and ankles. As a result, she had to miss out on a lot of tennis. However, she made her return at this year's Auckland Open and has been steadily trying to return to her previous self on the court. In spite of missing plenty of action, the 21-year-old's popularity hasn't been marred as she continues to be one of the most popular athletes in the world.

According to the list released by Zoomph, Raducanu is third on the list of female Gen-Z athletes in terms of Instagram engagement since 2023. She is only behind motorsports star Toni Breidinger and basketball star Angel Reese. The Brit currently boasts 2.48 million followers on the social media platform.

She is ahead of Caitlin Clark, Sha'Carri Richardson, Eileen Gu, Cameron Brink, Jordyn Huitema, Sunisa Lee, and Nelly Korda with an incredible 97.9 million impressions from 89 posts.

"If I didn't get that wild card [at Wimbledon], who knows what would have happened" - Emma Raducanu

Ahead of her campaign at the 2024 Rothesay Open, Emma Raducanu reminisced about how she had made her WTA Tour debut at the tournament in 2021, following which she received a wildcard for Wimbledon. She won her first three matches at SW19, including one against future champion Marketa Vondrousova. However, she had to retire from her match against Ajla Tomljanovic after facing breathing difficulties.

Raducanu pondered whether she would have won the US Open if she had not received a wildcard for Wimbledon. She went on to say that life is a collection of different moments coming together.

“If I didn’t get that wild card [at Wimbledon], who knows what would have happened or if the US would have happened? So I think life is a compilation of butterfly effects and small moments that you don’t know what’s going to happen," she said.

Emma Raducanu kicked off her campaign at the Rothesay Open with a 6-1, 6-1 win against Ena Shibahara.
