Emma Raducanu's Porsche was "taken back" by the manufacturer a few days ago. As Porsche's brand ambassador, after her 2021 US Open victory, Raducanu became the proud owner of a silver 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet worth £125,000 ($163,000).
However, recently, Raducanu's associate reportedly told the Daily Mail that the Briton had lost privileges to her Porsche.
"Emma no longer has a Porsche. They took it back. It used to have pride of place at her home," the associate reportedly said.
A spokesperson from Porsche concurred with the status of Raducanu's car and reportedly said:
"While we do on occasion loan Emma a car, this is very much on an ad hoc basis."
The spokesperson also clarified that taking the car back did not reflect on the partnership between the former World No. 10 and the German car brand.
"Emma Raducanu is a global brand ambassador for Porsche and there have not been any changes within our successful partnership since it started in 2022. We are very happy with our partnership."
Following the reports, rumors of Raducanu taking a bus to move around town began doing rounds. She was trolled for supposedly going from the front seat of a 911 Carerra GTS Cabriolet to a London bus.
Raducanu mocked the reports by taking a bus to pick up her brand-new Porsche Cayenne. She posted a picture of herself through the window of a double-decker on Instagram and captioned it with laugh-till-cry and a newspaper-bundle emoji.
Between the two Porsches, Raducanu was seen driving around in her Dacia Sandero.
Emma Raducanu's sentimental ties to her Dacia Sandero despite being Porsche's brand ambassador
Emma Raducanu purchased a second-hand Dacia Sandero four years back for £5000. She bought it a few days after she obtained her driving license and still holds a sentimental value for the car despite endorsing Porsche.
In an interview with The Scottish Sun in 2022, Raducanu shared a funny story about "never" parting with her first car.
“My dad is Romanian and a Dacia was his first car. So, yeah, I have a white Dacia Sandero," the Brit said. "It was funny, I passed my test three days before the first lockdown and we sort of knew it was going into lockdown, so we needed to buy a car ASAP. I bought it second-hand for £5k. I take care of her. I’m never going to get rid of it."
Raducanu was last seen on-court at the Korea Open in September, where she retired from her quarterfinal match against Daria Kasatkina due to a foot injury.
