Emma Raducanu sent a message to the rest of the WTA Tour as she gears up to "do some damage" in the 2025 season. She is out of action after spraining ligaments in her foot during her 2024 Korea Open quarterfinal match against Daria Kasatkina.

Raducanu rose to stardom after a miraculous win at the 2021 US Open as a qualifier. However, she has been dealing with a lot of injury and performance trouble since then. The 2021 US Open is the only title triumph of her career.

After deciding to pull out of the final stretch of the 2023 season to recover from surgeries on both her wrists and an ankle to remove carpal bosses, the Brit returned to the tour at the ASB Classic. However, things haven't gone according to her plan. She has a 20-13 record this season. Though she showed some momentum during the grass swing, she couldn't convert any of her runs into a title-winning one.

After a disappointing opening round exit Sofia Kenin at the US Open, Emma Raducanu entered the Asian Swing. She kicked off the swing at the Korea Open and scored wins over Peyton Stearns and Yue Yuan following which she had to retire from her match against Daria Kasatkina 1-6 down.

The 21-year-old recently sat down for an interview with Women's Health where she discussed what the ups and downs of her recent years have taught her:

“There has been a lot of volatility over the past three years. And I think the most I’ve come into myself has been in the last few weeks. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is non-attachment; acknowledging that everything comes and goes. Every moment is fleeting, and how you interact with the present dictates how you feel, the quality of your work, the quality of your relationships, and how much the people around you enjoy being with you.
I’ve taught myself not to label things as black or white. For example, with this injury, I’m trying to catch myself and stop labelling it as like, “Oh, I’m so unlucky, this is so bad.” I’ve learnt to accept things and reframe them. I’m not completely unable to exercise, so I’ll still do things like yoga or Pilates – low-impact exercise, so I’m focusing on that. I’ve matured a lot in the last few weeks, to be honest.”
“Having been through such big changes, wellness to me now is the inner stillness I feel. For me, that might mean doing hot yoga, reading, learning, studying – anything to cultivate my mind. I take confidence from doing things that really enrich my mind and body and how peaceful I feel. Yeah, I’m prepared to work hard and do some damage next year,” Emma Raducanu added.

Raducanu is slated to represent Great Britain at the 2024 Billie Jean King Cup Finals.

Emma Raducanu and Great Britain will face Germany in the opening round of the knockouts at the 2024 Billie Jean King Cup Finals with the winner facing the defending champions Canada in the quarterfinals.

Raducanu played a huge part in Great Britain's success in their qualifier tie against France. She scored two huge wins in singles against Caroline Garcia and Diane Parry. The Brit staged impressive comebacks from a set down in both matches to secure her nation a place in the finals.

Raducanu will be joined by Katie Boulter, Harriet Dart, Heather Watson, and Olivia Nicholls. Captain Anna Keothavong will lead the team.
