Naomi Osaka’s boyfriend, Cordae, shared a strongly worded message emphasizing the importance of protecting families, especially children, amid rising cybercrimes. The couple are parents to their one-year-old daughter, Shai.
Osaka and Cordae have been together since 2019 and although there have been reports in the past few years about issues between them, the pair has been going strong. In July 2023, they also welcomed their first child, a daughter named Shai.
Osaka and Cordae have a combined following of over 5 million on Instagram. The couple, however, refrains from posting images of their child on social media. Recently, the rapper shared a strongly worded message with his followers on his Instagram.
Cordae asked parents to not post images of their children online amid rising cybercrime and the advancements of AI.
"Idk who needs to hear this but social media is not a real place. Just because you don't see something happening on here don't mean it ain't happening in REAL LIFE. People show what they want you to see. It's a STAGE," he wrote.
"Stop putting all your info online, especially if you have a large following. Stop posting your family members with no proper discernment ESPECIALLY your kids. Cyber security is only getting worse, Al is only getting better. Stay safe and protected loved ones."
Naomi Osaka opened up about co-parenting Shai with her boyfriend Cordae
In an interview with InStyle last year, Naomi Osaka opened up about motherhood and co-parenting with her boyfriend Cordae. The Japanese tennis star revealed that they are at a comfortable point as parents.
"We built a really good foundation," she said. "I don't know if it's because he's just an easygoing guy, but I think we just respect each other's opinions. And if we disagree on something, we talk it out. At the end of the day, we both want what's best for Shai."
In on-the-court matters, Osaka had taken a maternity leave in 2023 and returned during the Australian swing early in 2024. The 27-year-old faced injury concerns during the season and could not achieve her best form. However, she managed to climb from World No. 833 at the start of 2024 to World No. 60 by the end.
The four-time Grand Slam champion has also undergone a change in her team. She split with longtime coach Wim Fissette and joined forces with renowned coach Patrick Mouratoglou. Naomi Osaka has already begun preseason training and hopes to have a successful 2025.
