Eugenie Bouchard blames twin sister Beatrice for 'calling her out' publicly over personal matter

Eugenie Bouchard took exception to her twin sister, Beatrice Bouchard, for calling her out publicly over a personal matter. The Canadian recently sustained an injury on her eye while playing pickleball.

Bouchard, who was a tennis player, recently switched to pickleball at the beginning of the 2024 season, where she signed up for the PPA tour. Ever since, she has been involved in the sport and recently needed urgent care while she was in a pickleball practice session. She got hit in the eye and sustained a scratched cornea, following which she was immediately given medical assistance.

After this incident, she shared a statement about the injury, stating that it will heal soon. Amid this, Eugenie Bouchard was called out by her twin sister, Beatrice Bouchard, on social media for not calling her back. The latter shared a story on her Instagram story, which showcased a snapshot of her FaceTime, calling the Canadian, and wrote:

"@geniebouchard still waiting for you to call me back hun."

This story was reshared by Eugenie on her Instagram, and she replied to her twin sister, saying:

"Don't have to call me out publicly."

Eugenie Bouchard's sister once opened up about their strained relationship

In an interview with German media house Blick in 2021, Eugenie Bouchard's sister, Beatrice Bouchard, opened up about their relationship. She revealed that she knows someone in a grocery shop better than her twin sister. She said:

"We are definitely not a simple, happy, perfect family. Even anything but that. Our parents got divorced, they weren't happy with each other. Genie was with my mother for most of her life from then on. Myself, our siblings Charlotte and William with my father. So we grew up separately."

Eugenie Bouchard was last seen on the court in August 2024 at the Canadian Open, where she faced an early exit as she lost in the first round against Moyuka Uchijima 5-7, 7-5, 6-4. Following this, she started to show her interest in pickleball since the start of this year and is currently training for the third edition of the Pickleball Slam, which is slated for February 16, 2025.

The Canadian has won one WTA Tour singles title and one doubles title in the course of her tennis career.
