Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian has cast his vote in the U.S. presidential election and is encouraging fans to do the same. The Reddit co-founder shared a video of himself where he can be seen with an ‘I Voted’ sticker while telling fans to do the same.

Williams and Ohanian met back in 2015, when they were staying in the same hotel in Rome. The duo were engaged a year later and welcomed their older daughter, Olympia, in April 2017. They were married in New Orleans six months after this and have since welcomed their second daughter, Adira.

While Serena Williams is one of the most prominent tennis stars of the past few decades, her husband is an entrepreneur responsible for co-founding Reddit. The latter is frequently active on social media and recently took to X, motivating fans to vote, saying,

“Alright, go vote, feels good.”

Alexis Ohanian has previously underlined the importance of voting, writing on X,

“Who you vote for matters. And it's more important than ever that the folks in office are at least proficient in technology and are spending time with builders to understand the potential paths so that we can get the best possible outcome for America & humanity.”

While Alexis Ohanian encourages fans to go vote, Serena Williams will herself be abstaining from participating in the U.S. presidential elections. This is because her religion as a Jehovah's Witness doesn't allow her to get involved in politics.

In 2008, Williams weighed in on weighing for Barack Obama, saying (as quoted by the New York Times),

“I don’t really get involved in political affairs because of the way I was brought up and being a Jehovah’s Witness, but it’s exciting to see someone like Barack Obama have a chance to lead one of the world’s biggest nations. And it’s just interesting. Think 40 years ago or 30 years ago, all the things that were going on, the persecution we had to go through. And it’s good. It makes my heart smile.”

Williams reaffirmed her stand on voting in 2016.

"I don't get involved in politics. I don't vote. It goes back to my religion, and I'm not involved at all in that political scene,” she told reporters at the French Open.

Serena Williams is widely regarded as one of the best tennis players of all time, having spent a total of 319 weeks as the World No. 1. Over the course of her career, the American won 23 singles Grand Slam titles, 16 Grand Slam Doubles titles, as well as four Olympic gold medals.
