Stefanos Tsitsipas bantering with the Billie Jean King Cup's page has sparked amusing reactions from tennis fans. They were amused by how the Greek, who is an alternate at the ATP Finals, said that he was 'patiently' waiting in Turin for a chance to compete at the year-end tournament.

Tsistipas fell short of qualifying for the ATP Finals, amassing 3165 points throughout the season, which keeps him at 11th position in the Race to Turin rankings. This resulted in Tsitsipas being an alternate for the ATP Finals, alongside Stefanos Tsitsipas.

The Greek, who is currently watching the tournament from the sidelines, seemingly joked about how Paula Badosa didn't have to pay tolls to get close to the baseline after watching a video posted by the Billie Jean King Cup's page. The Spaniard later responded to her boyfriend's banter.

The tournament's organizers responded by asking the Greek,

"Come show us your volleys in Malaga, Stef," they wrote.

However, Stefanos Tsitsipas cheekily responded how he was 'patiently' waiting in Turin for his chance.

"Would love to join, but I’m currently too busy in Turin… waiting… patiently… very patiently… as an alternate."

Fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to react to this amusing banter between the two. One fan joked how they were aware of who sneezed into Carlos Alcaraz's pasta, alluding to the Spaniard's health issues which were at full display during his match against Casper Ruud.

"Found who sneezed into Carlos’ pasta," the fan joked.

Another fan quipped how World No. 11 was waiting for Daniil Medvedev to drop out. The Russian had expressed his frustration after his opening-round loss to Taylor Fritz stating how he wanted the tennis season to end.

"He’s waiting on Daniil to drop out fr," the fan quipped.

Here are some other reactions from fans.

"You might get a chance if Rublev injures himself while breaking a racket!" a fan said.
"this sounds like a threat actually," a fan was amused.
"Your wish coming true?" a fan pondered.

Here are some other reactions from fans, who joked about Stefanos Tsitsipas' tweets.

"Is he foreshadowing?" a fan questioned.
"sometimes he tweets like he’s 16 sometimes he tweets like he’s 60 you don’t know what ur getting until u see it," a fan joked.
"My favourite animal is people taking every Stef’s post seriously instead of just taking the joke he is serving," a fan mentioned.

Stefanos Tsitsipas' five-year streak of qualifying for the ATP Finals came to an end this year. Though the Greek still has a chance to play at the event, the opportunity will come to him as an alternate.

Tsitsipas had a scintillating outing at his debut in the year-end finals in 2019, when he defeated the likes of Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev, Roger Federer, and Dominic Thiem to clinch the title.

However, following his stupendous debut, the 26-year-old never made it out of the group stages in any of his following campaigns.

Last year, the World No. 11 retired mid-match during his bout against Holger Rune and was subsequently replaced by Hubert Hurkacz for the remainder of the round-robin stage.
