Frances Tiafoe reacted to Philadelphia Eagles fans orchestrating a mock funeral for Washington Commanders following the latter's NFC Championship defeat. The extravagant display quickly caught the tennis star's attention, who didn't hold back in expressing his displeasure.
The Philadelphia Eagles secured their place in Super Bowl LIX with a commanding 55-23 victory over the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship game on Sunday, January 26, 2025. This 55-point performance set a new record for the most points scored in an NFC Championship game.
Eagles' running back Saquon Barkley was instrumental in the win, scoring three touchdowns, including a remarkable 60-yard run, and amassing a total of 118 rushing yards. Quarterback Jalen Hurts also contributed significantly, recording three rushing touchdowns and one passing touchdown.
Excited by the victory, a Philadelphia-based funeral home hilariously arranged a makeshift funeral service for the Washington Commanders, complete with a casket and funeral wagon. The video of the funeral caught Tiafoe's attention, who is an avid Commanders fan. He reshared the video on his Instagram story and wrote:
"I hate Philly fans 🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️."
Tiafoe kicked off his 2025 tennis season at the Brisbane International, entering the tournament as the fourth seed. The American tennis star opened with a 7-6(5), 6-3 victory over Adam Walton in the first round. On December 29, 2024, Daniels led the Commanders to a thrilling 30-24 victory against the Atlanta Falcons, sealing the win with his third touchdown pass to Zach Ertz.
Tiafoe celebrated the team's triumph on his Instagram story, praising Daniels' remarkable season while endorsing him for the prestigious Rookie of the Year honor.
