Frances Tiafoe was recently seen sporting a Damian Lillard's Milwaukee Bucks jersey during a practice session ahead of the 2025 Australian Open. Last year, the American reached the second round at the Melbourne Major before being eliminated.
Tiafoe kicked off his 2025 season by competing at the Brisbane International. He was seeded fourth in the tournament and he started strong by defeating wild card Adam Walton 7-6(5), 6-3 in the first round. However, he was unable to advance further, falling to Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard 4-6, 6-7(4) in the second round.
Since then, the former World No.10 has travelled Melbourne for the 2025 Australian Open which is scheduled to run from January 12, 2025 to January 26, 2025. He recently shared a picture of himself on social media from a practice session at the Grand Slam, donning a jersey of Damian Lillard, who boasts a net worth of $100 million (according to celebritynetworth.com).

In 2024, Frances Tiafoe competed in all four Grand Slams, reaching the second round at the Australian Open and the French Open, where he was defeated by Tomas Machac and Denis Shapovalov, respectively.
At Wimbledon, the American made it to the third round before being ousted by eventual champion Carlos Alcaraz. Tiafoe had a strong showing at the US Open, reaching the semifinals before falling to eventual runner-up Taylor Fritz
Tiafoe finished as the runner-up at the Fayez Sarofim & Co. U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championship in Houston and the Cincinnati Masters. He also reached the semifinals at the Delray Beach Open and the Citi Open . He concluded his 2024 season at the Paris Masters, where he was knocked out in the first round by Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard.

Frances Tiafoe achieved his best result at the Australian Open six years ago in 2019. He began his campaign by defeating qualifier Prajnesh Gunneswaran 7-6(7), 6-3, 6-3 in the first round, and then went on to overcome fifth seed Kevin Anderson 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 7-5 in the second round.
Tiafoe continued his winning streak by triumphing over Andreas Seppi 6-7(3), 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, and 20th seed Grigor Dimitrov 7-5, 7-6(5), 6-7(1), 7-5 in the third and fourth rounds, respectively.
However, the former World No.10 was eliminated in the quarterfinals after being defeated by the second seed and eventual runner-up, Rafael Nadal 6-3, 6-4, 6-2. Nadal then went on to reach the final but lost the title to top seed Novak Djokovic 3-6, 2-6, 3-6.
