Frances Tiafoe's girlfriend, Ayan Broomfield opened up about tackling the heat at the Australian Open. Along with this, she also shared glimpses of the fans' support for the American tennis star.
Tiafoe recently won his first round contest at the Australian Open 2025 against Arthur Rinderknech, 7-6(7), 6-3, 4-6, 6-7(4), 6-3. During this, he had his girlfriend as his constant support with her being present at the stadium to cheer him on during his game. However, while she was there, she had to experience the Melbourne heat and she made her feelings known about it by sharing an update on her Instagram stories.
She shared a selfie of herself with a blazer on top of her head, covering her from the heat and added a caption:
"The heat today was something special. Almost took me out... several times," Ayan Broomfield wrote.
But ahead of this, she also showcased love for Tiafoe's fans, sharing a video on her stories, where they cheered for the player with two fans wearing t-shirts with his face and name written on them. Ecstatic with this gesture, Ayan wrote:
"Ahhh I love it."
Frances Tiafoe commenced his 2025 season by playing at the Brisbane International; however, he fell short of advancing further than the second round, as he was beaten by Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, 6-4, 7-6(7).
Frances Tiafoe's girlfriend, Ayan Broomfield, opened up about how she encourages him after tense matches
In an interview with Essence magazine in September 2024, Ayan Broomfield opened up about the way she supports and motivates her boyfriend Frances Tiafoe after tense matches. She revealed that she takes advantage of her tennis background and looks into the stuff that needs to be improved from Tiafoe's end. Speaking about analyzing the sport and his game, she said:
"I think for me, I’m blessed to have a tennis background. So when he’s going through things, we don’t just talk about it on the surface level like, 'You can win next time.' We’ll actually sit down and work together and break down what’s going on. And I think that’s something that is unique to our relationship is the ability to go deeper and the ability to actually talk about what it is that he’s doing well, what it is that he’s not doing well," said Broomfield.
She further spoke about what has really helped Tiafoe's game, adding:
"But what has helped is just being able to analyze the sport and not make it a bigger deal than it is when he is not doing well and then remaining humble and making sure that we’re staying analytical when he is doing well. Because tennis is a very up and down sport, and if you don’t stay grounded and centered through all the ups and downs, it just becomes not only a physical roller coaster, but also an emotional one and we don’t want that."
Frances Tiafoe is currently gearing up for his showdown against Fabian Marozsan in the second round of the Australian Open slated for January 15.
