Frances Tiafoe recently reacted to Angela Alsobrooks' win in his hometown, Maryland, in the 2024 USA presidential elections. Alsobrooks made history by becoming Maryland's first black female senator.

Tiafoe was last seen on the tennis court during the Paris Masters, where he faced an early loss against Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard. The American was out of the tournament in the very first game with a score of 6-7(5), 7-6(4), 6-3. He faced an early loss at the Vienna Open as well, where he was defeated by Matteo Berrettini in the second round.

Days after his Paris Masters upset, Frances Tiafoe voiced his opinions about Alsobrooks' victory in Maryland. He exuded pride in having black people elected to several positions in his hometown, such as Wes Moore as its governor and Brandon Maurice Scott as its mayor. The player shared the sentiment on his Instagram story, writing:

"Black US Senator, Black Governer & a Black Mayor. Let's go Maryland! History. Incredibly proud."

Not just him; his girlfriend, Ayan Broomfield, also supported Kamala Harris when the latter was claimed to be unqualified for US President.

Frances Tiafoe's girlfriend, Ayan Broomfield, extended support for Kamala Harris

Before the results of the US presidential elections were finalized, Kamala Harris was surrounded by opinions that stated that she wasn't fit enough to become the US President. This caught the attention of Frances Tiafoe's girlfriend, Ayan Broomfield, who expressed her dissent on the comments.

Broomfield took to her TikTok account and released her statement, saying that the opinions about Harris were bothering her about the election.

"I never speak on politics but this specific thing has been bothering me so much about this election. You may not believe in Kamala’s strategy or her plan or even her in general. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion but what’s been irritating me is when people say that she is not qualified," she said.

Highlighting Kamala Harris' accolades, Broomfield added:

"She’s an undergrad from Harvard, a law degree from University of California. She was District Attorney, she was Attorney General, she was the Vice President, she’s on all these committees. How do you get more qualified than that? Stripping away her hard-earned achievements to justify your lack of support makes zero sense."

Frances Tiafoe delivered notable performances at the Cincinnati Masters and the US Open in 2024. He reached the finals in Cincinnati; however, he was bested by Jannik Sinner with a score of 7(7)-6(4), 6-2. In the latter, he fell short of advancing to the finals after Taylor Fritz defeated him in the semifinal round with a score of 4-6, 7-5, 4-6, 6-4, 6-1.
